VISIT EXPO 2015 BY TRAIN

Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” is the subject of Expo 2015 that will be hosted in Milan from May 1st to Octber 31st. Here your sensorial experience will be enhanced by visiting a wide variety of food pavillions and by taking part to spectacular events that will be performed thick and fast. What a wonderful opportunity for a round the world jump into different traditions and cultures and to discover the nearby area with Brescia and Lake Garda too. That’s all good food for thought: highly recommended!

Brescia is a historic town located in the region of Lombardy between Milan and Verona. It’s provided with good transport links which make it an ideal connecting point to reach Lombardy Lakes’ disctict and the outstanding cities of Northen Italy (eg. Verona, Venice, Bologna and Turin) within a day trip. But first of all why not discover Brescia and its beauties among which there is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and monuments dating back from the Roman era up to the Venetian period of influence on the town ended in the mid 18th century.

DAY 1

Arrival at your hotel in Brescia. Meet and Greet. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2 (Expo 2015 Milan)

After breakfast  in an hour train trip you reach Milan for a full day visit to Expo. Return back to Brescia. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 (Brescia)

After breakfast a half day guided walking tour to explore the peculiar features of the historic centre of Brescia: the Roman area with Piazza del Foro, the Medieval heritage in Piazza Duomo with its cathedral and Palazzo Broletto, the Venetian-style Piazza Loggia with its clocktower. In the afternoon free time for shopping or to discover a few of its museums (eg. Monastic complex of S. Salvatore – Santa Giulia and Capitolium archeological area, UNESCO World Heritage site). Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4 (Desenzano del Garda)

After breakfast a 30 minutes train trip to the beautiful Desenzano del Garda lake resort will let you have all the time for strolling among its lanes for shopping or for visiting its recently restored castle and Villa Romana or simply sunbathing on a beach immersed in a stunning panorama. Return back to Brescia. Dinner and overnight stay.

Departure after breakfast.

After breakfast departure to Gardone Riviera for a visit to the Vittoriale, Gabriele D’Annunzio’s House full of original  memorabilia and its gorgeous gardens in which there is an open-air amphitheatre, the warship Puglia and other weird artefacts. Free time for lunch or for a stroll on the lakeside promenade. Return back to Brescia for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 ( Malpaga Castle – Franciacorta Outlet)

After breakfast departure to Malpaga, near Bergamo, for a guided visit of its castle immersed in 330 hectares of land. A special cooking class divided in three segments (theory, showcooking, individual practice) will enable you to put your skills into preparing a few traditional recipes of our region. On the way back to Brescia, time for shopping at “Franciacorta Outlet Village”. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 4 (Franciacorta – Montisola)

After breakfast departure to the well-renowned Franciacorta area and visit of one of its charming wine cellars: the wine-making procedures and a tasting of some of its exquisite distillates such as Franciacorta’s Saten will be the must of your day. Free time for lunch on the beautiful lake shore of Iseo and then an excursion by boat to stunning Montisola, a small mountain island in the middle of Lake Iseo. Return back to Brescia for dinner and overnight stay.
